Arshad Nadeem Gears Up for Commonwealth Games Javelin Final

Sub-Title 1: Pakistan's Javelin Star Eyes Commonwealth Glory

Sub-Title 2: Arshad Nadeem's Road to the Final

WEB Following his successful Olympic debut, Arshad Nadeem continued to break new ground by winning a gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games with a throw of 90.18 meters. As the only Pakistani athlete at the 2019 World Athletics Championships 17 in Doha, Qatar, Nadeem achieved a new personal best and national record of 86.29 meters.

To secure a spot in the final round, an athlete must achieve a minimum throw of 84 meters, which Arshad Nadeem surpassed easily as he finished with a throw of 88.48 meters. However, the real challenge will begin on Thursday when he could face a formidable line-up of rivals in the final.

Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra leads Arshad Nadeem 9-0 in the head-to-head record, but the Pakistani ace has the better personal best throw. Nadeem's personal best of 90.18 meters is 1.52 meters ahead of Chopra's best of 88.66 meters.
