Sixers land Hield, Pacers acquire McDermott to help with 3-point game
The Indiana Pacers have acquired veteran forward Doug McDermott from the San Antonio Spurs in a three-team trade that also sends Buddy Hield to the Philadelphia 76ers, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The Spurs will receive guard Bryn Forbes and a 2029 second-round pick from the Pacers, Wojnarowski reports.
McDermott, 31, is a career 45.3% 3-point shooter who is averaging 10.0 points per game this season. He should help the Pacers replace some of the 3-point production they lost when they traded Caris LeVert to the Cleveland Cavaliers earlier this month.
Hield, 30, is a four-time All-Star who is averaging 17.2 points per game this season. He is a career 40.6% 3-point shooter.
