Desharnais Struggled Following Calder Cup Finals Loss
EDMONTON, AB - Vincent Desharnais needed some time to clear his head after the playoffs last year. The Oilers prospect had a tough time following the Calder Cup Finals loss, and he felt like he needed to get away for a while.
"I just needed to get away from hockey for a bit," Desharnais said. "I went home to Quebec and spent some time with my family and friends. I just needed to relax and reset." Desharnais said he struggled in the playoffs, and it took him some time to get over it.
"I'm a lot better now," he said. "I'm excited to get back to playing hockey and I'm looking forward to the new season." Desharnais is expected to play a big role for the Oilers this season. He is a skilled offensive player who can create scoring chances for himself and his teammates.
“I’m confident that I can make more of a contribution this season," he said. "I feel like I’m a better player than I was last year, and I’m excited to show what I can do.”
